What is a Butter Board?
A Butter Board is made by spreading softened butter on a wooden board, layering it up with toppings and seasonings of choice, and serving it with pieces of bread. It makes a good appetizer at parties and family get-togethers. Don’t forget to provide each guest with individual butter knives if you don’t want any double dipping.

Let's Make a Butter Board:

1. Butter: On an attractive wooden board, spread softened butter. This will form our canvas for this creation. You can go for unsalted butter, whipped butter, or herbed butter.
You can also choose from the collection of plant-based butters if you want to make a vegan butter board.

2. Jams: Lay out dollops of exotic fruity jams and compotes to pair with the butter. Apricot spread, fig jam, blueberry compote, or a strawberry preserve, you will be spoilt for choices with this one. Choose whichever pleases your taste buds the most. To give your butter board a sweet and savory twist, try some hot jalapeno jelly.

3. Dried Fruits: Add some colors and great presentation with dried figs, strawberries, apricots, cranberries, or sliced peaches. Also worth trying is a dried tropical fruit blend containing orange, pineapple, and kiwi.
4. Toppings: Go all in with stuffed olives, jalapenos, radishes, onions, fresh fruits, fresh herbs, capers, bacon bits, cured meats, fried garlic, and just about anything you fancy. Be sure to make it presentable though.
5. Nuts: The crunch of dried nuts will provide the perfect contrast to the varied textures laid out on the butter board. Add roasted pistachios, chopped walnuts, pecans, or sliced almonds for the perfect crunch.
6. Drizzle: Add the rich goodness of plain honey, fruit-flavored honey, or some hot honey to add to the magic of the butter board.

8. Bread: Pair the butter board with baguette, sourdough bread, crackers, bagels, and also yeast rolls to have a variety of options for your guests. Also, here’s another crazy idea. Make it a Bring Your Own Bread party!
Get your friends and family on board and go all in with the butter board. You may hate it or love it, but it’s definitely worth a try. Trends come and go, but memories last a lifetime.
